SPEAKER?
Simon Longden, Director of Pioneers of Australia
Simon has enjoyed a variety of roles including that of Registered Nurse, an officer in the Australian Regular Army and a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
With his wife, Joy, he took a year out to experience missions first-hand during the nineties and has never been the same since! That year in West Africa was a significant turning point for both Simon and Joy, and was the ultimate factor that influenced Simon's decision to go to Bible College where he majored in Missions.
Simon's passion includes helping the local church toshift missions from the fringe to the focus. The opportunities for thisgeneration of Australian Christians to impact the world strategically and 'turnit upside down' is unprecedented.
Simon, with Joy and their two girls, Sarah and Gabby, has been working with Pioneers since 2001 and spent much of that time in Sydney. Now back in Melbourne, Simon is the Directorof Pioneers of Australia. He loves reading, travel, fun with the kids, good coffee and hearing how God is at work in people’s lives.
